About the Award
The LPS Music Educator Award was created in the 2022-2023 school year and annually recognizes an LPS teacher who demonstrates remarkable commitment to music education and students. The monetary award is restricted solely to professional learning opportunities for the recipient.
Applying for the Award
Application Open: The month of February, annually
Award Amount: $1,000
Criteria: This award is available to any Lincoln Public Schools K-12 music teacher who has taught in LPS for five or more years who demonstrates excellence in teaching music
Nominating Process: Nominations may be submitted by any individual or group. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Selection Process: The selection committee will be facilitated by the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools Scholarships & Awards Committee, with input from the LPS Supervisor of Music. The Supervisor of Music will serve as a non-voting chair of a selection committee which will include a retired music educator from LPS, current administrator, and a member at large. The Foundation for LPS Scholarship and Awards Committee will choose the award winner based on input from the selection committee.
