Madelyn is in her third year as a school counselor at Mickle. Prior to serving LPS students in this way, she worked as a Spanish teacher for Moore Middle School. Both as a teacher and as a counselor, her ability to work with people from all walks of life have made her incredibly successful. Madelyn understands the bigger picture of schools and how they operate. She is able to take initiative, and thinks like a building leader. When the seventh-grade counselor took an extended leave of absence, Madelyn went above and beyond and took on responsibilities for handling counseling duties for both grades.
Her work ethic and genuine love for her job embody the spirit of this award.
