Danelle Deboer
Arts and Humanities Focus Program
12th Grade
Nominated By: Principal James Blake
Danelle Deboer is a senior at Lincoln Arts & Humanities High School Focus Program. She is being recognized for the maturity she has shown and the kindness she practices.
Danelle joined our program in the second semester of her sophomore year. As a student, Danelle dedicates herself to working hard to be successful, and has overcome many challenges. She maintains a high GPA, while also navigating life as an adult. She currently lives independently, responsible for her own care, which includes maintaining financial responsibilities and other expectations required of adults.
In addition to taking care of herself, she often goes out of her way to care for others. Her peers have acknowledged her kindness, recently recognizing her for looking after classmates who have forgotten lunches or those having other needs. Teachers appreciate how exacting Danelle can be when discussing her projects and intentions, she works diligently to ensure her success, staying after school and consistently putting forth effort in everything she takes on.
Outside of A&H, Danelle works part-time at Paws for Fun, where she takes care of animals. In fact, after graduating, she will attend Southeast Community College on a Learn to Dream Scholarship and then transfer to Northeast Community College in Norfolk to fulfill her dream of becoming a veterinary technician.
We are proud to have Danelle represent our program and model the qualities of other Inspire Award winners.
